Sheriff Maddox has been the Sheriff of Henry County for over 12 years. In his time as Sheriff, he has created a variety of programs and divisions to better serve the citizens of Henry County. Since he was elected, the sheriff’s department has been awarded multiple assets from the US Department of Defense 10-33 Program, which has made it possible for the sheriff's office to have a marine and aviation division. The State of Alabama District Attorney Office has invested money into the Henry County Sheriff’s Office canine program. During his terms as sheriff, he has managed to purchase many new patrol vehicles as well as other necessary equipment needed for day to day operations. In an effort to increase the law enforcement presence throughout Henry County, with the help of the Henry County Commission, Sheriff Maddox has been able to increase his staff in the divisions of patrol, criminal investigations, corrections, and school resource officers.
